Curse of dimensionality and dimensionality reduction strategies

I've been given the opportunity by the professor to deliver a lecture on the catchy term "curse of dimensionality" in the context of higher-dimensional geometry, along with an explanation of dimensionality reduction concepts such as feature selection and feature extraction (PCA, kernel PCA) to the final-year undergraduate students at HSTU as part of the Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition course.
